DESCRIBE YOUR APPROACH TO TEACHING
I have an open and questioning approach to learning. I work with individuals and groups and explore visual stimulation, materials and processes. I see my teaching as an extension of my working process, participants are encouraged to share and engage in knowledge through processes of talking, walking, looking and experimenting with materials.
WHAT WILL STUDENTS GAIN IF THEY COME ON ONE OF YOUR COURSES?
An open and experimental approach to designing, making and problem solving. A knowledge of mark making, working with metal and enamel and simple drawing techniques. A better understanding of your own and others’ creative processes.
ARE THERE ANY PARTICULAR TECHNIQUES/PROCESSES YOU USE IN YOUR TEACHING?
Walking, talking, collecting, making intuitively, experimenting with process. Group discussions.
WHAT INSPIRES YOUR OWN WORK?
Process and doing. I use various medium and media: making, materials, writing, walking, locality, place, people, marks made and left behind and stuff.

I have a BA Hons in Silversmithing, Jewellery and Allied Crafts from Sir John Cass, London Guildhall University. I also studied in Germany at Fachhochschule fur Gestaltung, Schwabisch Gmund. I have a B.T.E.C HND Design Crafts, Plymouth College of Art & Design and an Art Foundation qualification from Newport College of Art and Design.
I am also a qualified professional coach in relational dynamics.
