Summer Sampler Weekend: 4 - 6 June
New for 2010 is a special one-off weekend (4 - 6 June 2010), where you can come to West Dean to sample four new techniques and processes, taking home four finished items.
The non-residential fee is £244, which includes all materials. Accommodation for the weekend from £85 - £145.

AUTOMATA: Working in wood, wire, string, card and a variety of found materials, make your own simple automaton operated with a crank handle. Robert Race
BOOKBINDING: Making books by hand using simple tools and processes using handmade papers. Susan Hufton
GLASS FUSING: Explore the possibilities of fusing colourful making a coaster and cabochons to form an item of jewellery. Katrina Beattie
JEWELLERY: Make a silver ring with surface texture by using hammers and punches to your own individual pattern. Sarah Macrae

ENAMELLING: Experiment with a number of different techniques of enamelling on copper and make an enamel badge or maybe two. Penny Davis
FELTMAKING: Create your own unique small bag or purse using the ancient craft of making felt. Heather Belcher
MONOPRINTING: Create a number of instant unique colour prints with this hybrid technique somewhere between drawing, painting and printmaking. Mark Cazalet
STONECARVING: Have a go at carving a small soapstone sculpture – an exciting journey from the rough rock to a polished piece. Paula Haughney
